KENYA HOSPICE PROJECT

Rehema Daima—Always Mercy
A place of healing for the suffering
A place of rest for the weary
A place of refuge for the dying
Curatio Mundi, in partnership with Diakonia Compassionate Minstries, Kenya, is pleased to announce the launch of our newest project—building a clinic and hospice/palliative care center in rural western Kenya near Homa Bay. Hospice comes from the Latin hospitum, meaning hospitality. Originally, a hospice was a place of refuge, providing rest and protection for the weary on their journey. Today, a hospice cares for people on their journeys through serious, chronic,or terminal illnesses.
We are creating a place of healing for the suffering, a place of rest for the weary, and a merciful place of refuge for the dying. This hospice is founded on Rehema Daima, Swahili for Always Mercy, for Christ’s mercy brings healing and hope to all. This will be a healing place where integrated care will be dispensed to patients and families, addressing the full needs of the whole person: body, mind and spirit.
